About Me
Hello! My name is Mia Rivas, and I am currently a senior at North Central High School. I am a very artistic person that loves being creative in many mediums, however my greatest passion is definitely music. I joined my first band, Lost in the Dark, in 2020 during the pandemic. At first we just messed around and played covers, but after we started writing originals and playing with a drummer, I realized that playing with other people allowed me to be even more creative and driven. I got into the local music scene when we started playing shows, and fell in love. The noise, moshing, and people made me feel connected to others, and allowed me to move freely and express myself. After becoming more invested in the DIY and punk scene, I joined the band Callejera as the vocalist and bassist. Now, I play multiple shows a month with Callejera, and have become a part of a community of local artists and musicians. I love being creative and sharing my passion with others. I am excited to meet more talented people and continue to experiment and create music.
More about me (with pictures)

I live with my parents and my grandma. This is my grandma trying out my bass.

I used to do Cross Country and Track. I decided to stop after my junior year because the competitive aspect of the sport gave me a lot of anxiety, and because my body was tired after six years of intense training. I still love physical activity, and am grateful to have had such supportive teammates

I love dressing up and going out with my friends, especially to live shows.

I love visual arts as well as music. I like making films and drawing.

This is my band Callejera. I'm the singer and part time bassist.

This is my old band Lost in the Dark. We started playing together my Sophomore year. We all grew a lot as musicians in this band, and they continue to be some of my best friends. We no longer play together because of how busy everyone's personal lives got, but I will always love my first band.

I currently work at Starbucks. I've had a job ever since I turned 16, and like to be self sufficient financially.
